SUMMARY:December 2020 Falling Steel
DESCRIPTION:Foothills Public Shooting Complex\nFalling Steel Match \nWill be held the 1st Saturday of each month.  Matches will consist of 4 stages and one tie-breaker stage. The objective is to knock over/down as many steel targets within a given amount of time\, the “Par Time.” \nMATCH REGISTRATION:\nRegister online at www.practiscore.com. Your free account there allows you to view stage descriptions and diagrams in advance of the match and view scores after the match. Online registration will close on 7:30 am the day of the match.  You may Walk-In to register\, but your place and squad are not guaranteed. Walk-ins are accepted on a first come\, first served basis until the match has reached capacity. \nSTART TIME:\nFirst shots-10:00 am\, please arrive before 9:45 am. New shooters by 9:30am. Please watch our safety video and fill out waiver prior to match day at www.foothillspublicshooting.cc/waiver if you do not have a Foothills Range card yet. \nLOCATION:  283 Fielding Road\, Cherryville\, NC 28021 \nCOST:  $20.00 first gun and $5.00 for each additional gun (may not be in same division) \nDIVISIONS:\nThere will be 5 divisions based on firearm and equipment: Limited\, Open\, PCCI\, PCCO and Amateur. \n1) Limited: Any firearm legal for USPSA Limited: Limited/L10/Production/Single Stack/Revo or IDPA: SSP/ ESP/SCP/CCP/Revo.\na. Minimum caliber 9×19.\nb. Maximum of 10 per magazine (10+1 in chamber at start. 10 rounds in each subsequent magazine)\nc. No Power Factor\, but steel must fall to score.\nd. Start from holster.\n2) Open: Any pistol in USPSA Open Division\na. Minimum caliber 9×19\nb. Magazines may not be longer than 171.25mm\nc. No maximum round limit\nd. No major/minor Power Factor scoring or requirement\ne. Start from holster. \n3) Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCCI): Any PCC legal in USPSA PCC Division\na. No maximum round limit\nb. Start from low ready.\nc. Iron sights \n4) Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCCO): Any PCC legal in USPSA PCC Division\na. No maximum round limit\nb. Start from low ready.\nc. Optics \n5) Amateur: Those participants who are new to the sport and do not yet possess all the necessary equipment\, i.e.\, holsters\, magazine pouches. Start position will be low ready and magazines may be on the table\, unless otherwise specified by the stage description. It is recommended that you have clothing with pockets for extra magazines if the stage requires movement. \nEQUIPMENT:\na. Any holster that is USPSA or IDPA legal\, that secures the firearm and fully covers the trigger and trigger guard. Magazine pouches. (Not required for Amateur division.)\nb. 200-300 rounds of ammunition\, minimum. All ammo will be checked with a magnet\, no steel-core or bi-metal projectiles allowed. \nSCORING:\nRAW SCORE: is the number of targets down on a stage after the competitor has fired the last shot in the par time.\nSTAGE SCORE: is the Raw Score minus any applicable penalties.\nMATCH SCORE: is the combined total of all STAGE SCORES. The competitor with the highest Match Score is the winner. In the event of a tie\, the lowest tie-breaker time will determine the winner.\nTIE-BREAKER STAGE: competitors are required to knock down every piece of steel on the tie-breaker for a total time.

DESCRIPTION:NSSF FIRST SHOTS PISTOL CLASS\nPlease call 704-447-8230 to register and pay by phone to reserve a spot in this class! Minimum 8 students to hold class. Bring a friend!\nThis class is designed to introduce new and beginning pistol shooters to proper safety rules and firearm techniques. This class will teach you time tested fundamentals proven by champion hand gunners. Learn to shoot in a judgment-free\, stress-free environment with emphasis placed on safety and handgun fundamentals. It is better to learn the proper way initially than to overcome years of bad habits.\nCLASS TOPICS: Safety\, Gun Selection\, Grip\, Stance\, Sight Picture\, Trigger Control\, Follow Through\, Breath Control\, and Drills. Class will be limited to 20 students. Cost is $40.00.\nYOU SHOULD BRING: Your handgun and one box (50 rounds) of ammunition. We will provide eye and ear protection\, but please feel free to bring your own if you prefer to use your own equipment.\nWHEN IS THE CLASS? Sunday\, December 6\, 10:00 am-1:00 pm—2 classroom hours and 1 range hour.\nARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS? You must be at least 18 years old to take this class by yourself. Complacency often leads to bad habits without us even realizing it. This class will give you the opportunity to have an experienced shooter give you some valuable feedback as you begin this fun\, life-long sport.\nMUST I HAVE A NORTH CAROLINA CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT BEFORE TAKING THIS CLASS? No. However\, this class may be helpful before taking a concealed carry class.\nWHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Due to a burn risk from ejected brass\, do not wear open toed shoes\, loose fitting clothing\, or low-cut tops or tank tops. DESCRIPTION:This one hour class\, taught by Jesse Lackey–NC Skeet Shooting Hall of Famer\, will introduce you to the game of skeet. Scoring\, techniques and etiquette will be taught. Your $25 tuition includes one round of skeet and the NRA “Skeeters Guide”. Bring your shotgun\, two boxes of ammo (7.5\, 8 or 9; 1300fps max)\, eye and ear protection.
