Falling Steel Match
Will be held the 1st Saturday of each month. Matches will consist of 4 stages and one tie-breaker stage. The objective is to knock over/down as many steel targets within a given amount of time, the “Par Time.”
MATCH REGISTRATION:
Register online at www.practiscore.com. Your free account there allows you to view stage descriptions and diagrams in advance of the match and view scores after the match. Online registration will close on 7:30 am the day of the match. You may Walk-In to register, but your place and squad are not guaranteed. Walk-ins are accepted on a first come, first served basis until the match has reached capacity.
START TIME:
First shots-10:00 am, please arrive before 9:45 am. New shooters by 9:30am. Please watch our safety video and fill out waiver prior to match day at www.foothillspublicshooting.cc/waiver if you do not have a Foothills Range card yet.
LOCATION: 283 Fielding Road, Cherryville, NC 28021
COST: $20.00 first gun and $5.00 for each additional gun (may not be in same division)
DIVISIONS:
There will be 5 divisions based on firearm and equipment: Limited, Open, PCCI, PCCO and Amateur.
1) Limited: Any firearm legal for USPSA Limited: Limited/L10/Production/Single Stack/Revo or IDPA: SSP/ ESP/SCP/CCP/Revo.
a. Minimum caliber 9×19.
b. Maximum of 10 per magazine (10+1 in chamber at start. 10 rounds in each subsequent magazine)
c. No Power Factor, but steel must fall to score.
d. Start from holster.
2) Open: Any pistol in USPSA Open Division
a. Minimum caliber 9×19
b. Magazines may not be longer than 171.25mm
c. No maximum round limit
d. No major/minor Power Factor scoring or requirement
e. Start from holster.
3) Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCCI): Any PCC legal in USPSA PCC Division
a. No maximum round limit
b. Start from low ready.
c. Iron sights
4) Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCCO): Any PCC legal in USPSA PCC Division
a. No maximum round limit
b. Start from low ready.
c. Optics
5) Amateur: Those participants who are new to the sport and do not yet possess all the necessary equipment, i.e., holsters, magazine pouches. Start position will be low ready and magazines may be on the table, unless otherwise specified by the stage description. It is recommended that you have clothing with pockets for extra magazines if the stage requires movement.
EQUIPMENT:
a. Any holster that is USPSA or IDPA legal, that secures the firearm and fully covers the trigger and trigger guard. Magazine pouches. (Not required for Amateur division.)
b. 200-300 rounds of ammunition, minimum. All ammo will be checked with a magnet, no steel-core or bi-metal projectiles allowed.
SCORING:
RAW SCORE: is the number of targets down on a stage after the competitor has fired the last shot in the par time.
STAGE SCORE: is the Raw Score minus any applicable penalties.
MATCH SCORE: is the combined total of all STAGE SCORES. The competitor with the highest Match Score is the winner. In the event of a tie, the lowest tie-breaker time will determine the winner.
TIE-BREAKER STAGE: competitors are required to knock down every piece of steel on the tie-breaker for a total time.
